Addis Zemen

Addis Zemen ( Amharic አዲስ ዘመን , German  New Era ) is a daily newspaper that has existed since the 1960s and appears in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia .

The headquarters of the daily newspaper is located in the capital Addis Ababa . It publishes its copies in the official language of the federal government, Amharic , and is also published as the national press throughout the country.

Originally - under the regiment of Mengistu Haile Mariam in the People's Democratic Republic of Ethiopia from 1987 - Addis Zemen was the official party newspaper of the Labor Party of Ethiopia .

Since the overthrow of this form of rule by the Revolutionary Democratic Front of the Ethiopian Peoples in 1991, it is no longer a communist party newspaper, but is still under the control of the government.
