Adel Salameh

Adel Salameh ( Arabic عادل سلامة, DMG ʿĀdil Salāma ; * 1966 in Nablus ; † January 23, 2019 ) was a Palestinian oud player .

Salameh began his musical career before he went to Europe in 1990. There he made a name for himself as an important oud player and gave concerts in Japan, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Africa and many European and American countries. He has appeared in major European concert halls such as the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Opera House in Lyon and has appeared at music festivals around the world.

With the reputation of being an ambassador for Arabic music in the West, he tried to build bridges between different cultures and worked with Turkish, Spanish, Indian, French, English, Israeli and jazz musicians. He recorded several CDs with the Algerian singer Naziha Azzouz .
