Adele Benetti

Adele Benetti , actually Adelheid Karolina Sophie von Benigni zu Mildenberg ( October 11, 1851 in Zadar , Austrian Empire - August 30, 1926 in Prague ) was an Austrian opera singer ( soprano ) and singing teacher .

Life

Benetti came from an Italian patrician family. Her father was an Imperial Austrian officer. She had completed her singing studies with Caroline Prückner and Richard Levi and in 1871 joined the Theater Association in Darmstadt. She then worked in Würzburg, at the court theater in Schwerin, for three years at the Brno City Theater and at the Komische Oper in Vienna. From 1877 to 1885 she was engaged in Prague, but had to end her career early because of the loss of her voice. She stayed in Prague and then worked as a singing teacher .

She married JB Gerl in 1884 and A. Wiesner in 1897.
