Adelospondyli are a fossil taxon of amphibian-like terrestrial vertebrates . They are in the group of Hüllenwirbler classified (lepospondyli) and lived during the early Carboniferous to the early Permian in Europe and North America. Only four genera from the upper Lower Carboniferous region of Scotland have been described.

features

They had a massive skull roof, the bones of which were arranged in a characteristic way. The teeth were also characteristic. The eyes were far ahead. The trunk was elongated, with at least 70 holospondyles (a coil-shaped vertebral body made up of a single ossification) vertebrae . Limb belts were provided.
