The Administration des Chemins de Fer (ACF for short), in German Administration of the Railways or Railway Administration, is an administration subordinate to the Minister for Mobility and Public Works and which is responsible for the organization of rail traffic in Luxembourg .
The administration of the Chemins de Fer is the national safety authority within the meaning of the European Directive 2004/49 / EC and the law of July 22, 2009 on railway safety .
tasks
The ACF is responsible for the following areas:
- Rail interoperability
- Railway safety
- Allocation of train paths to railway companies ; this activity was taken over in 2009 by the transport association ( Communauté des transports ).
The ACF is responsible for maintaining safety on the Luxembourg rail network. It issues safety certificates ( certificats de sécurité ) to railway undertakings ( entreprises ferroviaires ), the safety permit ( agrément de sécurité ) to the only Luxembourg infrastructure operator ( gestionnaire de l'infrastructure ), the CFL , supervises the training and further training of the railway company's personnel responsible for safety and the infrastructure operator and is responsible for vehicle registration.
