Adnan Esen (born May 16, 1961 in Istanbul ) is a former Turkish football player and today's coach.

Athletic career

In the club

Adnan Esen played in the youth of Beşiktaş Istanbul until 1979 . Bandırmaspor signed him in the summer of 1979 . The midfielder played for the second division until 1982 and then moved to Galatasaray Istanbul .

For the yellow-reds Esen came to 94 league games and scored three goals. In the 1984/85 season he won the Turkish Cup with the team and the Başbakanlık Kupası in the following season. After four years for Galatasaray, the midfielder moved to Malatyaspor . A season at Zonguldakspor followed . Adnan Esen remained without a club for two years until he went to Göztepe Izmir in 1990 . There he ended his career after the 1993/94 season.

In the national team

Adnan Esen played for Turkey U-21s once in 1982.

Coaching career

Esen was assistant coach of Etimesgut Şekerspor and Malatyaspor from 2006 to 2008 . In October 2008, Adnan Esen became the head coach of Bandırmaspor and was fired after two months. His last job so far was at Vefa Istanbul in 2012 .
