Adolf Brunner (artist)

Adolf Brunner (born February 17, 1905 in Pforzheim ; † April 19, 1975 in Cologne ) was a German artist and graphic designer who worked mainly in Munich.

After studying with Hugo Troendle and at the State School for Applied Arts with Olaf Gulbransson , Brunner worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist. He mainly created landscapes. In the graphic arts, etching was his preferred technique. Until his death he was the main organizer of the Association for Original Etching in Munich. After his death, the association had its own exhibition rooms for the first time in Brunner's former studio on the eastern edge of Theresienwiese.

Brunner did military service from 1941 to 1945. After 1945 he lived for several months a year in the bay of Volos in Greece . Works by the artist are in the Lenbachhaus and the State Graphic Collection in Munich .
