Adolf Friederich

Adolf Siegmund Friederich , also Adolph Siegmund Friederich (born January 29, 1812 in Wernigerode , † November 13, 1892 ) was a German doctor and local researcher .

The pastor's son attended the Lyceum Wernigerode and then the cathedral school in Halberstadt . He studied medicine at the Universities of Göttingen and Berlin, where he in 1837 to Dr. med. PhD. After a long study trip, he first became a general practitioner in Derenburg in 1837 and then in Wernigerode in 1841, where he soon received the title of medical adviser. In 1864 he was appointed the count's personal physician. He shared an interest in local history with Count Botho zu Stolberg-Wernigerode. Both became co-founders of the Harz Association for History and Archeology in 1868. In the association, Friederich took over the role of curator of the antiquity collections. He was also a member of the scientific association.
