Adolf Huber (born November 13, 1872 in Magdeburg ; † November 1, 1946 there ; full name: Gustav Adolf Huber ) was a German musician, educator and composer.

Life

Gustav Adolf Huber was born as the second child to a Magdeburg confectioner family. From 1888 to 1892 he studied music, first at the Grand Ducal Orchestra, Music and Opera School in Weimar and later at the Leipzig Conservatory with the outstanding violinists Carl Halir and Adolf Brodsky. After graduating, he took up a position as 2nd violinist in Sweden. From 1895 to 1905 he was the conductor of the Robert Schumann Choral Society in Magdeburg. In 1909 he represented Rudolf Fischer for one year and finally took over the management of the Magdeburg Orchestra from 1910 to 1920 . Adolf Huber taught violin and piano playing as a music teacher at the conservatory as well as in private. Huber composed numerous works, mostly for music education , which are often played internationally.
