Adolf Rüütel (born September 3 . Jul / 16th September  1906 greg. In Cesis , Governorate of Livonia ; † 4. August 1981 in Tallinn , Estonian SSR ) was an Estonian football player and - functionary .

Career

Adolf Rüütel was born in 1906 in Cēsis (Eng. Wenden), Livonia Governorate . From 1924 to 1930 he attended a high school in Tallinn. From 1936-1940 studied Rüütel at the University of Tartu Law . In addition to his professional career, he played football from 1925. In the 1925 season he played for JK Tallinna Kalev with whom he was runner-up. At least from 1929 to 1931 and in 1933 he played for city rivals Tallinna JK . There he was with the team once runner-up and three times third. From 1930 to 1931 Rüütel played four times in the Estonian national soccer team , one of them during the Baltic Cup in 1930 in Lithuania . From 1937 he was on the board of the Tallinna JK . In addition to his studies, Rüütel worked as a banker from 1926 to 1940 . During World War II he served as a soldier in the Red Army . He survived the war and later worked as an auditor and tax consultant at now for the Soviet Union belonging Republic of Estonia , where he in 1981 at the age of 74 years in Tallinn died.
