Adolf Riff

Adolf Gustav Riff (born June 29, 1850 in Bischheim , † May 15, 1929 in Strasbourg ) was a lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Riff attended the elementary school in Bischheim until 1862 and the Protestant grammar school in Strasbourg from 1862 to 1868. Between 1868 and 1870 he studied at the University of Strasbourg and 1871–72 at the University of Paris . From 1876 he was an attorney at law, from 1879 a lawyer, from 1895 councilor of justice and in 1897 he became a member of the board of directors of the Alsace-Lorraine Bar Association. From 1899 he was a member of the District Assembly of Lower Alsace, from 1902 a member of the Strasbourg City Council and deputy to the Mayor and from 1902 a member of the Provincial Committee of Alsace-Lorraine . He was also a member of the senior consistory of the Augsburg Confession of Alsace and Lorraine and chairman of various non-profit associations.

From 1898 to 1907 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Reichsland Alsace-Lorraine 8 ( Strasbourg city ) and the Liberal Association .
