Adolf Schachner

Adolf Schachner (born September 6, 1941 in Altaussee , Styria ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

After primary school in Altaussee, Adolf Schachner attended secondary school in neighboring Bad Aussee . From 1955 he learned the profession of industrial clerk . After completing his apprenticeship in 1958, he found work as an employee at the Voestalpine branch in Liezen . After attending a one-year social academy from 1965 to 1966, Schachner also joined the union . From 1971 to 1987 he was chairman of the works council for employees at Voestalpine .

In 1970 Schachner was elected to the Liezen municipal council for the SPÖ . Only a year later, in November 1971, he became vice mayor. Although he was released from this position in November 1974, Schachner remained a councilor until July 1987, with the exception of brief interruptions. From April 1980 to December 1981 he was responsible for the city's budget as financial advisor.

In October 1981 Schachner became a member of the Federal Council in Vienna . It stayed that way until June 1990.

In 1988 Schachner became a senior employee at the Liezen-based housing construction group Ennstal . He headed the company until 2001.

From 2003 to 2018 Adolf Schachner was chairman of the drum women in Liezen carnival .

Adolf Schachner is married and has three sons.
