Adolph Larsen
Adolph Alfred Larsen (born November 27, 1856 in Copenhagen , † October 2, 1942 in Svejbæk, Midtjylland ) was a Danish landscape painter .
Life
Adolph Larsen was the son of Jens Larsen and Franzine Marie, née Merkel. During his studies with Kristian Zahrtmann he discovered his interest in painting and taught it to himself. He increasingly turned to landscape painting. He painted his first work in 1886 and received the Sødringske Prize for it in 1889 . In 1893 he won the Neuhausenske Prize for his work Det indre af en Skov med gamle Træer (The interior of a forest with old trees) .
Adolph Larsen died in seclusion on October 2, 1942 at the age of 85 in the small Danish town of Svejbæk on Jutland .
