Adolphe Bernard (painter)
Adolphe Bernard (born September 7, 1812 in Ghent ; † March 7, 1890 ibid) was a Belgian genre painter and glass painter.
From 1829 to 1832 he studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent with Jan Baptist Lodewyck Maes and Pieter Van Hanselaere . After graduating, he went to Rome , where he won a grand prize at the Accademia di San Luca in 1835 . In 1838 he returned to Ghent and stayed there for life. Since then he has regularly attended art salons.
