Adrián Biniez

Adrián Biniez (born August 28, 1974 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine film director, screenwriter and rock singer.

Adrián Biniez began his artistic career as a rock singer and songwriter for the Argentine independent rock band Reverb in the 1990s. The band recorded two CDs. He came to Montevideo in Uruguay in 2004 through the film production of Whiskey , where he has lived since then. In this film he played a small role as a karaoke singer . The film was also shown in German cinemas. He continued to be interested in the film. In 2005 he wrote scripts for a television series. In 2006 he made his first short film . With his feature film debut Gigante , he was invited to the 2009 Berlinale competition . The love story between a security guard and a cleaning lady at a supermarket in Montevideo was awarded the jury's grand prize at the Berlinale. In addition to this Silver Bear , Biniez also received the prize for the best debut and, alongside Andrzej Wajda's Der Kalmus, the Alfred Bauer Prize . The film was released in German cinemas in October 2009.
