Adriaan Hendrik van der Weel

Adriaan Hendrik van der Weel (born December 8, 1895 in Middelburg , † July 5, 1976 in Amsterdam ) was a Dutch Romanist .

life and work

Weel received his doctorate in 1942 at the University of Groningen under Kornelis Sneyders de Vogel with the work of Paul-Louis de Mondran, 1734-1795. Un chanoine homme d'esprit du dix-huitième siècle d'après des documents inédits (Rotterdam 1942). From 1954 to 1966 he was a full professor of French at the University of Amsterdam .

Adriaan Hendrik van der Weel should not be confused with Professor AH (Adriaan) van der Weel (* 1953).
