Adriaan Marius Cornelis von Müller (born March 30, 1928 in Berlin ) is a German prehistoric scientist . His specialty is medieval archeology.

Life

Adriaan von Müller was born as the son of Otto von Müller and Therese. van der Bijll born. After attending grammar school and studying, he was awarded a doctorate in 1953 in Bonn. phil. PhD. 1956/57 he was assistant, 1958–65 curator and from 1965–1990 finally director of the Museum for Prehistory and Early History in Berlin. Since 1975 he has also been an honorary professor at the Free University of Berlin . Excavations took him to Iraq (1956/57) and India (1966/67).

Müller is a full member of the Historical Commission in Berlin, the German Archaeological Institute and an honorary member of the Polish Numismatic Society. He was awarded the Order for Services to Polish Culture and the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 1984.

Müller married Dorothea Beyer in 1952, with whom he has three children, Bettina, Andreas and Corinna. After the divorce, he entered into a second marriage in 1974. He and his wife Klara Muči have two sons, Marco and Tibor.
