Adrian Alhard von der Borch

Adrian Alhard von der Borch (born April 9, 1769 in The Hague ; † December 28, 1833 ) was a Prussian district administrator.

Adrian Alhard von der Borch came from the Westphalian nobility of Borch as the son of the married couple Johann Karl von der Borch and Anna de Villegas . He studied law at the Universities of Göttingen and Halle and worked from 1789 to 1790 in the department of the western provinces at the General Directorate in Berlin. Two years later he resigned from civil service and in 1808 became a canton official for the cantons of Brakel, Nieheim and Steinheim. On November 1, 1816, he became provincial district commissioner for the Brakel district and on April 8, 1817, he was appointed district administrator of the Brakel district , subject to the examination to be taken. The Minister of the Interior had warned him several times for lack of activity and insufficient supervision of the subordinate sub-authorities. In April 1829 he was dismissed from civil service with the right to a pension. Von der Borch owned the Langendreer house and through his marriage to Friederike Christiane Melusine Hypolithe von der Borch, the family's possessions, which had been separated by inheritance, were reunited into one property. The marriage produced a son.
