Sir Adrian John Bradshaw KCB , OBE (* 1958 ) is a British general and has been Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe since March 2014 .

Life

Adrian Bradshaw attended Bloxham School and took part in the Combined Cadet Force . He then studied agriculture at Reading University , which he graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science . He then joined the 14th / 20th King's Hussars and served as a junior officer in Germany, Northern Ireland, Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and the Falkland Islands. First he served as a tank commander and regimental intelligence officer and then joined the helicopter regiment. In 1991 he received his Masters in Defense Studies from King's College London .

From 1994 to 1996 he was the commander of the King's Royal Hussars Cavalry Regiment . He then applied for higher positions in the British military hierarchy. In 2005 he obtained a Masters in International Relations. He moved to the Ministry of Defense and was promoted to brigadier . Together with the 3rd Infantry Division he went to Kuwait and planned operations in Iraq. In the US Task Force he became Deputy Commander and later headed the 7th Armored Brigade (Great Britain). He then studied at the Royal College of Defense Studies and was finally promoted to Major General in November 2007 . IN March 2009 he trained the 1st Armored Division and prepared it for assignments in Afghanistan .

In 2011 he became Deputy Commander of ISAF in Afghanistan and in 2013 Commander of the British Land Forces. On March 28, 2014, he was finally appointed Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe. He earns between £ 170,000 and £ 174,999 annually (as of 2015), making him one of the 328 highest paid public servants in the UK.

Private life

Adrian Bradshaw is married and has three children. In his spare time he plays polo , shoots and draws. He is vice president of the Combined Services Polo Association (CSPA).
