Adrian Iorgulescu (born July 6, 1951 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian composer and politician . From 2005 to 2008 he was minister of culture in the cabinet of Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu .

Iorgulescu studied from 1970 to 1974 at the Bucharest Academy of Music and in 1982 at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome . Since 1990 he has been Professor of Composition at the National Music University in Bucharest. In addition, he was Vice-President since 1990 and President of the Romanian Composers Union since 1992.

For his compositions he received a. a. the Dinu Lipatti Prize (1973), the George Enescu Prize of the Romanian Academy and several times the Prize of the Composers' Union (1979, 1981, 1982, 1987 and 1989). He composed a. a. several symphonies and instrumental concerts , the opera Revuluția , film music as well as chamber music and vocal works.

From 1996 to 2000, Iorgulescu was a member of the Bucharest City Council and the Commission for Culture, Art and Media. 2003 became a member of the liberal party PNL . In 2005 he succeeded Mona Muscă as minister of culture in the cabinet of Popescu-Tăriceanu.
