Adriano Chicco

Adriano Chicco (born February 16, 1907 in Genoa , † August 30, 1990 in Rome ) was an Italian chess composer and chess historian .

Chicco has composed more than 500 problems and has won a prize 116 times. For his work he was awarded the title of International Master in Chess Composition .

At first he worked as a lawyer, later he made a name for himself as a chess historian. In this way he was able to date the age of historical chess pieces before the 6th century.

Together with Giorgio Porreca he wrote a chess dictionary in 1971 (Dizionario Enciclopedico Degli Scacchi).
