Adrien Barthe
Adrien Barthe (actually Grat-Norbert Barthe ; born June 7, 1828 in Bayonne , † August 13, 1898 in Asnières ) was a French composer .
Barthe studied at the Conservatory in Paris . In 1854 he won the Prix de Rome and the associated artist grant with the cantata Francesca de Rimini . In 1858 he won the Prix Rodrigues and beat his only comrade, the later well-known composer Georges Bizet . His best-known works are the two operas Don Carlos and La Fiancée d'Abydos and the oratorio Judith .
