Adristas
Adristas ( ancient Greek Ἀδρίστας ) is an Arcadian hero of Greek mythology .
Adristas is only mentioned in Pausanias , he is the one who taught Arkas the art of weaving and spinning . His name is possibly derived from the ancient Greek word Ἀτρίξεσθαι , which can be interpreted as a weaver . Accordingly, Adristas is to be seen as a cultural hero or as an eponymous hero of a craft, who, like many inventors or transmitters of a cultural technique in Greek mythology, received his name after the activity performed.
