Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture ( AMBA ) from Advanced RISC Machines Ltd. (ARM) currently defines four buses in the 3rd generation (AMBA3):

AMBA is used on system-on-a-chip systems to connect the components, for example also in FPGAs with ARM cores integrated as hard macros . A typical AMBA-based system consists of a high-speed bus (AHB or ASB) and a peripheral bus (APB), which are connected to one another via a bridge .
