In addition to the stage design at the State Theater, which shaped numerous performances, Fuchs was a landscape painter with his favorite subjects Salzburg and Venice. The paintings are characterized by an idiosyncratic color scheme, often in a refined, differentiated spatula technique. Classically expressionistic at first , the later work becomes increasingly abstract, dissolved in color in the impressionistic sense. The influence of the staging of the scenery can be felt in the painterly work.

International exhibitions and participations were from 1972 to 1978 as part of the Concorso internazionale di pittura in Naples, 1982 at the Salon de Nations in Paris, 1986 at the Center international d'art contemporain in Paris; Individual shows in Salzburg were in 1978 in the museum pavilion in Mirabellgarten , in 1987 in the gallery of the city of Salzburg and in 1998 in the Weihergut gallery (on the 90th birthday).

The permanent work also includes the renovation of the station path to Maria Plain with the design of the secret pillars that have not been preserved, based on the Nazarene originals of the Belle Epoque.
