history
The nucleus of the Aegis Group was the communication agency Centrale d'achats radio, affichage, télévision (Carat) founded in 1966 by Gilbert Gross in Paris . In 1979 the advertising agency WCRS was founded, which in 1984 bought Carat and went public. In 1990 the group was named Aegis Media Group. In 1994 the location changed: the company moved from Paris to London . In March 2013, the acquisition of Aegis Media by the Japanese media holding company Dentsu was completed. With this merger, the globally active Dentsu Aegis Network was created. In Germany, the network was at times the market leader and is currently still represented in Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Augsburg, Berlin and Munich with a team of around 1,500 employees.
