Aenne Gehling

Aenne Gehling (born April 8, 1901 in Essen - Altenessen ; † March 24, 1984 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ). She was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1954 to 1962 .

Life

Aenne Gehling was the daughter of a tea merchant. She attended the Oberlyzeum in Lüdinghausen and St. Mauritz and acquired the teaching qualification for teaching at elementary schools. Later the examination for the teaching profession in secondary schools was added. At first she was unemployed due to overcrowding in this career. For this reason, from 1927 she took over a job with a social security agency.

From 1931 to 1935 she was employed as managing director of a specialist guild health insurance fund, after which she was department head at the guild health insurance fund of the Essen district craft association until she retired.

Gehling joined the CDU on January 1, 1946, she was a member of the Essen CDU district executive and from 1956 to 1970 first chairwoman of the CDU's women's committee. She was also the chair of the Altenessen Citizens' Committee. Gehling was elected to the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament in the third electoral term via the CDU state list, and in the fourth electoral period she made it into the state parliament as a direct candidate of the CDU in constituency 64 (Essen V). She was a member of parliament from July 13, 1954 to July 20, 1962. She was a member of the Essen City Council from 1964 to 1969.

Aenne Gehling was buried in the Altenessen North Cemetery.

Aenne Gehling was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class on February 1, 1973 .
