The Aeropuerto Internacional Ponciano Arriaga , (also known as Aeropuerto Internacional de San Luis Potosí ) is an airport in north-central Mexico in the urban area of Soledad de Graciano Sánchez around 28 kilometers north of downtown San Luis Potosi .

The airport was named after the name of Ponciano Arriaga (1811-1865), a Mexican lawyer and politician who supported the constitutional government of then President Benito Juárez and was born in this city.

The international airport has a high proportion of cargo flights as the region is the location of the automotive industry. ThyssenKrupp , Daimler AG and Continental AG have large companies represented there. The FedEx , a global US-based courier and logistics company where its hub for air freight. The airport has a cargo platform with more than 16,000 m² on which three cargo planes can be handled at the same time.

The annual average number of passengers is around 250,000. The passenger terminal has a capacity for 300 people per hour, who can be processed there at peak times.

The renovation and expansion of the terminal building began in 2014 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2014. The expansion and redesign will also include a new security zone in the check-in area. The airport operator named the construction costs at 79.4 million pesos.
