The Afram is a 100 km long river in the inland of Ghana .

The Afram (center) in the Ashanti and Kwahu regions.

It rises in the Ashanti region north of Kumasi at an altitude of about 300 meters near the village of Abofoo, which is located in a foothill of the Mpesai hills and initially flows in a north-northeast direction.

As soon as it is at an altitude of 150 meters, after about 15 kilometers of its course, it turns in a south-easterly direction and finally flows into Lake Volta .
