African Jewish Congress

The African Jewish Congress (German: African Jewish Congress ) is a Jewish interest group in the countries of sub-Saharan Africa . The organization, founded in 1994, is based in Houghton Estate , Johannesburg , South Africa. Its motto is “For a Jewish Future in Sub-Saharan Africa” with divine guidance .

The president is the South African Mervyn Smith , spiritual leader and managing director Rabbi Moshe Silberhaft.

Vice-presidents are Richard Lyons (Botswana), Harold Pupkewitz † (Namibia), Ann Harris (South Africa), Peter Sternberg and Sam Benatar (both Zimbabwe).
