Hermann von Gaffron

Ernst Maximilian Hermann von Gaffron-Oberstradam (since 1840 Baron von Gaffron-Kunern ) (born March 28, 1797 , † July 16, 1870 ) was a noble Silesian landowner , administrative officer and politician as a member of the Prussian manor house .

family

Hermann Freiherr von Gaffron-Kunern came from the Silesian nobility family Gaffron . He was the son of Friedrich Max Ernst von Gaffron and Ernestine von Hirsch. In 1819 he married Johanna Röstel (1799–1858) in Grünberg . The couple had two sons: Rudolph von Gaffron (1821–1901) became a general in the Austro-Hungarian army . Theodor von Gaffron-Kunern (* 1823) became district administrator in the Münsterberg district and a member of the Prussian manor house.

Life

Von Gaffron-Kunern attended the Knight's Academy in Liegnitz in 1812 , joined the Prussian army in 1813, became an ensign in the same year , and in 1820 took his leave with the rank of second lieutenant in the Silesian Cuirassier Regiment . 1831–1835 he was state elder of the Münsterberg district, since 1833 a member of the provincial parliament (1851 and 1856 its vice-marshal), 1836 member of the management of the Royal Credit Institute in Breslau (1852 its first director), 1854 director of the estate loan office in Breslau and became in 1848 Secret government council . From 1849 to 1854 he was a member of the Prussian First Chamber and then from 1854 on presentation of the landowners' association in the Münsterberg countryside a member of the Prussian mansion for life. For his services, he was elevated to the Prussian baron with the title Gaffron-Kunern on October 15, 1840 , held the honorary title of Castle Captain of Breslau from 1861/62 , became a legal knight of the Order of St. John in 1855 and had the following medals: Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with star and Eichenlaub (1852), the Royal House Order of Hohenzollern in the knight class (1859) and the Imperial Royal Russian Order of St. George in the 5th class (1814). Von Gaffron-Kunern inherited Ober- and Nieder Kunern from his father, acquired Haltauf in 1832 and Märzdorf in 1841 (all located in the Münsterberg district).
