African Wildlife - Somalia Elephant is an investment coin that has been minted since 2004. With the approval of the Republic of Somalia , it was commissioned by Emporium Hamburg . The coins have had a fineness of 999.9 / 1,000 since 2016 and the currency is Somali shillings . The Somalia Elephant is a legal tender in the Republic of Somalia.

The name of the coin is derived from the African elephant , which is depicted on the front of the coin. The motif changes every year, which is why the Somalia Elephant has become a popular investment and collector's coin. On the back you can see the national coat of arms of the Somali Republic, the year of issue and the face value of the coin.

Within a few years, the bullion coin has gained worldwide recognition. Older years have low numbers of items, which is why these are very popular among collectors. Many investors associate this coin with the intrinsic value of the metal and an aesthetic motif that changes every year. The market prices of the older vintages are now up to eleven times higher than the sales prices in the year of issue.
