African swimming championships

The African Swimming Championships have been held by the African Swimming Association CANA since 1974 . At first there was no uniform cycle. Since the sixth African Swimming Championships in 2002, they have been held every two years in the even years.

The focus of the world championships is on the swimming competitions. Due to the large number of participants and participating countries, the African Swimming Championships are one of the largest events in Africa .
