Agapanthia asphodeli is a beetle from the family of longhorn beetles (Cerambycidae) in the subfamily Lamiinae the tribe Agapanthiini.
features
The elytra are speckled brown and gold, the pronotum is black with two lateral and one central golden longitudinal band. The body-length antennae are golden with black tips except for the completely black first antennae. The scutellum is golden. The animals are covered with protruding black hair, the legs are closely covered with golden hair.
Way of life
The larvae develop in the stalks of various Affodill species, e.g. B. Asphodelus albus , Asphodelus fistulosus and Asphodelus aestivus .
Occurrence
Occurrences are known from the entire Mediterranean region, from Switzerland, Turkey, Russia and the Ukraine.
