The Agate Peak (English for agate tip ) is a mountain peak at the southeast end of the Intention Nunatakker in northern Victoria Land . It rises on the southwestern edge of the Evans firn field .
The New Zealand Antarctic Place Names Committee named it after the agate that was found here , along with other semi-precious stones , by the southern group of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1966–1967).
