Agatharchides is an impact crater in the southwest of the lunar front on the northeastern edge of the Mare Humorum , east of the Gassendi crater and north of Hippalus . The rim of the crater is irregularly shaped and severely eroded, the interior is largely flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Greek geographer Agatharchides .
