Agathe (Tübingen)
Agathe, Countess of Tübingen (born November 13, 1533 ; † June 28, 1609 ) was the wife of Count Eberhard von Hohenlohe in Waldenburg.
From 1568 on, Eberhard built the moated castle in Pfedelbach on the walls of a previous ministerial castle as his winter residence. Due to the tragic events of the Waldenburg Carnival on February 7th, 1570 , Eberhard died on March 10th, 1570, when construction was in full swing. Agathe completed the castle and took up residence there. A Hohenlohe-Tübingen alliance coat of arms, which goes back to her and her husband, hangs above the coat of arms portal on the entrance side.
After completion of the palace in 1572, Agathe had a new church built in 1588/89 in place of the nearby former palace chapel. The inscription that was then above the entrance can now be seen on the south wall of the choir. The alliance coat of arms Hohenlohe-Tübingen is depicted on the altar at the foot of the cross.
The couple's grave plaque is in the collegiate church in Öhringen .
