Agecore

Agecore (spelling AgeCore) is a purchasing association of retail chains in Europe founded in 2015 . The dealer association includes Coop ( Switzerland ), Edeka ( Germany ), Intermarché ( France ), Colruyt ( Belgium ), Conad ( Italy ) and Eroski ( Spain ). The association also became known through its dispute with food companies such as Nestlé and AB InBev or Mars Incorporated and the boycott of products by the affiliated retail chains.

history

Agecore was founded in 2015 a. a. Founded by Edeka with other partners as a purchasing alliance. The first managing director was Gianluigi Ferrari, who had previously been head of the Rewe alliance Coopernic .

In 2017, Agecore threatened to discontinue products from beer company AB InBev ( Beck's etc.) because no price agreement was reached.

In 2018, with an order freeze at Nestlé Agecore, demanded better conditions for its products. Coop stopped the order for 150 articles, Edeka also for over 100 articles. According to estimates, Nestlé generates over 2 billion Swiss francs in sales with the Agecore companies, which accounts for over 2 percent of group sales and around 10 percent of sales in Europe.

In December 2018, the alliance began with the boycott of up to 56 branded products from Mars Incorporated .

In 2020, Agecore was in conflict with The Coca-Cola Company , after Intermarché and Edeka, Colruyt also began to boycott some of the beverage manufacturer's products.
