Les Mousquetaires
Les Mousquetaires ( The Musketeers ) is the umbrella brand of the French group ITM Entreprises SA , based in Bondoufle , Essonne department , to which several legally independent retail companies belong. The best-known sales line is Intermarché . ITM is the second largest retail chain in France.
The group belongs to the international purchasing cooperation Alidis / Agenor (based in Geneva), in which the Spanish Grupo Eroski and (since 2005) the German Edeka each hold a third.
In 1997, ITM Entreprises SA became majority shareholder in the German SPAR Handels AG through its Swiss subsidiary Intercontessa AG . This resulted in the No. 1 in the European food trade and a strategic realignment of Spar followed. Spar concentrated on small and medium-sized sales areas, 74 large Interspar hypermarkets were given up and the flag was changed to Eurospar in 1999, and to Intermarché since 2000 . With ITM, Spar formed the Swiss Agenor AG for central purchasing . In 2005 ITM became the sole owner of what is now SPAR Handelsgesellschaft mbH. The 1073 Netto branches of both Netto chains were sold to the parent company ITM in 2004 and thus remained in the group of companies. On September 12, 2005 ITM sold Spar and the German Netto Marken-Discount (Netto Süd) as well as 25% of Netto Nord to Edeka -Zentrale AG.
