Agnes von Glogau

Agnes von Glogau (* between 1293 and 1296; † December 25, 1361 in Seligenthal ) was by birth Duchess of Glogau and by her marriage Duchess of Lower Bavaria and Countess von Hals .

Life

Her parents were Duke Heinrich III. von Glogau and Sagan († 1309/10) and Mechthild, daughter of Duke Albrecht of Braunschweig-Lüneburg .

On May 18, 1309, Agnes married Duke Otto III, who was about thirty years her senior . of Lower Bavaria , who was King of Hungary as Béla V from 1305 to 1307/08. His first marriage was to Katharina von Habsburg , who died in 1282.

The marriage of Agnes with Duke Otto III. came from two children:

After Duke Otto's death, Agnes married Count Alram von Hals in 1319 , with whom she had a daughter. After his death in 1331 she lived as a widow in the Seligenthal monastery near Landshut . There she died in 1361; her body was at the side of her first husband, Duke Otto III. buried in the monastery church Seligenthal.
