Agonoscelis rutila is a bug from the family of stink bugs (Pentatomidae). In English, the type of bug is also known as the Horehound Bug .

features

The approximately 12 millimeters long bugs are bright orange in color. They have a black pattern on their top and bottom.

distribution

The species is widespread on the Australian continent. It is represented in Queensland and New South Wales.

Way of life

The bugs feed on phytophagus . Their forage plants include the common horehound ( Marrubium vulgare ), the rosselle ( Hibiscus sabdariffa ), Leptospermum coriaceum as well as various eucalyptus trees and citrus plants . The name for the English name of the bug species is the common horehound, which is called Horehound in English .
