Agostino Giambelli

Agostino Giambelli (* 1891 in Milan ; † 1978 there ) was an Italian civil engineer and politician .

Giambelli holds a PhD in engineering. He was party leader of the Partito popolare , later city councilor for the Democrazia Cristiana . In the 1950s he became Second Mayor of Milan. He did a great job building the subway . In memory of his contribution, a plaque was put up at the San Babila underground station . In 1958 he was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
