The Agua Fria River is a 193 km long river in the US state of Arizona .

It flows through the Agua Fria National Monument and then flows into the Black Canyon in the artificially dammed Lake Pleasant , which was built in 1928 for the water supply. It leaves the lake again, takes up the New River at Glendale and flows into the Gila River at Goodyear .
