Ahkal Mo 'Nahb II. ( September 3, 523 - July 21, 570 ) was a ruler ( Ajaw ) of the Maya city ​​of Palenque . He ruled from May 2, 565 until his death.

Origin and family

Ahkal Mo 'Nahb II. Was born on September 3, 523 ( long count 9.4.9.0.4, calendar round 7 K'an 17 Mol). He was a grandson of his namesake Ahkal Mo 'Nahb I. His family relationship with his predecessor K'an Joy Chitam I. has not yet been clarified. His successor Kan Bahlam I was possibly his younger brother.

Reign

He ascended the throne on May 2, 565 (9.6.11.5.1, 1 Imix 4 Sip), 85 days after the death of his predecessor K'an Joy Chitam I. The throne then remained vacant for almost two years. It was not until April 572 that Kan Balam I was officially enthroned as the new ruler.
