Ahmed Mejri

Ahmed Mejri (born January 2, 1990 in Tunis ) is a Tunisian boxer and Olympic competitor from 2012 in the lightweight .

Boxing career

He was already the Tunisian youth champion in 2008 and participated in international tournaments and competitions in Finland, the Czech Republic, Macedonia, Albania, Cuba, Algeria, Hungary, Azerbaijan and Turkey. In 2011 he won the silver medal at the Arab Championships in Qatar , the gold medal at the African Games in South Africa and the gold medal at the Arab Games in Qatar. In 2012 he won the African Olympic qualification in Casablanca with victories against Toribio Koca, Equatorial Guinea, Mohamed Alioua, Egypt, Andrique Allisop, Seychelles, and Abdelkader Chadi , Algeria.

He then took part in the 2012 Olympic Games in London , defeating Shafiq Chitou , Benin (16: 9), but was eliminated in the round of 16 against Félix Verdejo , Puerto Rico (7:16). In 2014 he won a bronze medal at the African Nations Cup in South Africa. in August 2015 he won a bronze medal at the African Championships in Morocco. At the global Olympic qualification in Baku in 2016 , he was eliminated in the round of 16.

In 2018 he won a bronze medal at the Arab Championships in Sudan .
