Shafiq Chitou

Shafiq Chitou (born May 23, 1985 in Cotonou ) is a boxer from Benin and 2012 Olympic competitor in the lightweight category .

Boxing career

Chitou took part in the 2009 World Championships in Milan , defeating Hassan Shahzada, Afghanistan and Papish Baloyi, South Africa, before being eliminated in the third round of the tournament against Kerem Gürgen, Turkey. In 2010/2011 he was a participant of the Turkish team "Istanbulls" in the World Series of Boxing (WSB) and won the bronze medal at the African Championships 2011 in Cameroon .

At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 , he was eliminated in the first fight against Ahmed Mejri , Tunisia (9:16).
