Ahmed Rateb

Ahmed Rateb ( Arabic أحمد راتب, DMG Aḥmad Rātib ; * January 23, 1949 in Cairo as Ahmed Kamal Eldin Rateb Al Okily Hasanin ; † December 14, 2016 in Madinat as-Sadis min Uktubar ) was an Egyptian actor .

Life

He grew up in the Saida Zainab district of Cairo. Rateb began acting during his school days. He studied engineering, but broke off this course. He moved to the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts, where he did a Bachelor of Arts in acting. Since the 1970s he appeared in many film productions.

Rateb was married to one of his cousins. The two had a total of three children. He died on December 14, 2016 at the age of 67 of complications from a heart attack .
