Ahmed Rifai

Ahmed Rifai ( Arabic أحمد الرفاعي, DMG Aḥmad ar-Rifāʿī ; born 1118 in Basra ; . died 1182 ) was an important Sufi ( Islamic mystic ) and founder of the Rifa'i - Order . He is said to have been a descendant of the Prophet Mohammed and related to the well-known Sufi Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani . Ibn Khallikan mentions him in his biographical lexicon Wafayāt al-aʿyān as an important Shafiite lawyer and great Sufi master.
