Ahmet Dogan
Ahmet I. Doğan is a German publisher. His Ararat-Verlag , founded in Stuttgart at the end of the seventies, is considered to be the first publisher that was able to establish itself in the Federal Republic of Germany "in the sense of a binational cultural mediation" aimed at a group of migrants.
As a literary translator of a self-published work from Turkish, he made it onto the shortlist for the German Youth Book Prize in 1979 : he published Vasıf Öngörens Des Märchen Kern (1978) in his own two-volume translation .
In addition to his publishing activities, Doğan ran a bookstore in Berlin-Kreuzberg in the 1980s . He also appears in 1987 as a coordinator in the staff of the Livaneli film production Eisenerde Kupferhimmel (1987).
Doğan was actually a doctor of architecture.
