Ahmet Güler (* 1957 in Trabzon , Turkey ) is a German entrepreneur .

life and career

After studying economics at the University of Hacettepe in Ankara, Güler came to Germany in 1980 to complete his doctorate in Göttingen . His involvement began in Germany at the end of the 1980s with the establishment of the Turkish-German Association of Entrepreneurs (TDU) and was continued with the establishment of the umbrella association of Turkish entrepreneurs TIDAF in 1993, for which he was deputy chairman for seven years. Since August 2000 he has been chairman of the Association of Turkish-European Entrepreneurs (BTEU).

He was one of the first to offer training positions in Germany as an entrepreneur coming from abroad in the 1980s. Here, too, he sees a considerable information deficit on both the German and the Turkish side. For example, the number of apprenticeships with currently 65,000 entrepreneurs of Turkish origin, 20% of whom are training, could be increased by at least 10,000 apprenticeships through targeted advice. The BTEU association sees the acquisition of apprenticeship positions as an important area of responsibility for initiating corresponding projects. Further efforts were made towards founding an official Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This official TD-IHK has existed since 2004 with a chairman from his team. An interface for the coordination of corporate succession and the strengthening of migrant businesses within the framework of an EU project are also on the program. With the European platform - an Internet forum with over a thousand associations and members - the BTEU was able to expand its sphere of activity to the European level thanks to Güler's commitment and initiative.
